Betsy (Bender) Hayes learned the proper way to interact in a business setting, conversation and presentation skills and how to interview as a Networks Scholar and undergraduate management and business administration major with a Spanish minor at Indiana State.
Hayes is now helping to build a solid foundation for Framebridge, a start-up online custom framing business headquartered in Washington, D.C., as the company’s head of human resources.
“I wanted to be prepared to enter the business world and didn’t know what tools I needed,” Hayes said. “(Networks) provided a fantastic opportunity to have a group of staff and peers teach me things and help navigate college life. I have confidence to speak in front of groups and feel prepared for anything that comes my way. It gave me an opportunity to learn great time management skills and receive feedback in a safe setting. It sharpened my listening, writing and networking skills.”
