What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Perfect happiness to me is living life surrounded by family and friends while pursuing a career that is exciting, and where I feel I can truly make a difference.
What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear right now is not reaching the goals that I have set for myself. I try very hard to accomplish things that will improve the quality of life for my family, and failure to meet my own expectations would be very disappointing.
What trait do you like least about yourself?
I least like the fact that I can be shy and quiet when in an uncomfortable situation. This can lead to people having trouble getting to know me.
Which historical figure do you most identify with?
There has been so many great people throughout history so it is difficult to pick just one that I identify with. If could choose to be like someone though, I would pick Hippocrates. He not only changed the history of medicine, but his lasting influence changed the historical progress of humankind.
Who is someone you’ve met at Indiana State you’ll remember the rest of your life?
Mike Williamson. He taught one of my safety classes my first semester at State. His work background has made him very knowledgeable about workplace safety and human resources, and he enjoys sharing that knowledge. You can tell that he actually cares about students and wants them to succeed. He is always available to help, and has a great way of teaching. I look forward to taking more of his classes before I graduate.
Which talent would you most like to have?
I would really like to be an excellent public speaker. Having a skill like that can be very beneficial in the type of work I want to do.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I feel that my greatest achievement, next to having my kids, was making the decision to come back to school and then finding a way to actually make that possible for myself.
If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what do you think it would be?
I would hope to come back as a person. I would want the chance to navigate through life again, and see where I would end up.
What do people notice first about you?
I think people automatically assume that I am very reserved because I am often quiet at first, but that’s not really the case.
What does BLUE mean to you?
When I think of BLUE, I think of opportunity. I think of unity, growth and constant improvement for not only individual students and the school, but for the community as a whole. Sycamore pride represents hope and endless possibilities for everyone.
