What is your idea of perfect happiness?
My idea of perfect happiness is being able to build relationships with others domestically and internationally while being able to travel as well.
What is your greatest fear?
One of my greatest fears is feeling stuck in the same place. My self-motivation does not allow me to be content with meeting expectations. I hope to utilize my full potential and go above and beyond what is expected of me, no matter where that may lead me.
What trait do you like least about yourself?
The trait that I like least about myself is that I second-guess myself; however, I have improved this through the confidence I have been able to gain from multiple leadership positions.
Which historical figure do you most identify with?
The historical figure I most identify with is Misty Copeland. She is the first African-American woman to be named a principal ballerina at the American Ballet Theatre. Not only has she overcome racial slurs and challenged societal body standards, but she gained confidence through dance, is fiercely committed to her dreams and an incredibly accomplished dancer and woman.
Who is someone you’ve met at Indiana State you’ll remember the rest of your life?
I am so thankful for everyone I have met in my time at State. The professors, supervisors and students I have built relationships with have all made a huge impact on my life. I am forever grateful for their support and encouragement to strive to be the best person I can be.
Which talent would you most like to have?
The talent I would most like to have would be to be able to tumble. I have always wanted to be able to do flips, handstands, etc.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement thus far has been winning the Linda Eldred Leadership and Service Award through my sorority, which was created to honor Linda Eldred, an Indiana State alumna, for her immense contributions to State. It was incredible to be able to hear about her life and get the chance to have her present the award to me. She is an incredible leader, and I can only hope that I can reach the same level of impact she has.
If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what do you think it would be?
I would come back as Cristina Yang from Grey’s Anatomy. She is extremely successful, she knows what she wants and is very determined to get it, and she’s extremely self-confident.
What do people notice first about you?
My winged eyeliner.
What does BLUE mean to you?
To me, BLUE means community. When I first came to ISU I did not know anyone. Now, I do not know how I could go on without knowing the people I know. ISU has quickly turned into my home away from home.
