What is your idea of perfect happiness?
My ideal of perfect happiness is relaxing by a fire on a chilly night and listening to good music. Long-term happiness for me is to be financially stable with a job I love.
What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear is not achieving what I set out to do. I strive to reach the goals that I lay out for myself and I feel as though I let myself down if I don’t achieve them.
What trait do you like least about yourself?
I have a slightly crooked nose that only I notice. Besides that, I hate being indecisive. I’m a little bit of an introvert and a little bit of an extrovert and that doesn’t mix well.
Which historical figure do you most identify with?
I identify a lot with Abraham Lincoln. He was a well-liked, honest man who wasn’t afraid of doing what he had to do to get things done. Lincoln was a leader and a man of the people, and I identify a lot with his virtues.
Who is someone you’ve met at Indiana State you’ll remember the rest of your life?
I will remember all of my aviation classmates and professors. Each and every person in this program has a memorable personality. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the help of great professors like Dr. Allen and Professor Welsh. Having great friends also made the years fly by.
Which talent would you most like to have?
I have never been musically inclined. I’d like to learn how to play guitar first of all. I also enjoy singing in the car but I wouldn’t mind actually being able to sing well instead of sounding like a scratched record.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement has been becoming a pilot. It was something I always dreamed of doing since I was a kid. My grandfather was a pilot, my uncle is a pilot, and my dad has his pilot’s license so have always wanted to continue the legacy. I had a lot of setbacks during my training but I’m proud of being able to overcome those which is something I didn’t believe I could do. That’s what makes this achievement so great.
If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what do you think it would be?
That’s a tough question. I would probably want to come back as some sort of animal, probably some type of bird. I would be an eagle or owl as they are seen as wise and stoic animals.
What do people notice first about you?
When I first meet people, they see me as quiet or shy until they get to know me.
What does BLUE mean to you?
BLUE means having the opportunity to pursue my dream career in an affordable and professional way. Attending Indiana State University has given me an opportunity to further my knowledge in many different fields. State has prepared me for whatever lies ahead.
