What is your idea of perfect happiness?
I am always my happiest when I am spending time with family and friends. Regardless of what is going on, when I am surrounded by the people I care about, most nothing can bring me down!
What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear is not knowing what is going to happen in my future. If I could be granted one wish it would be to get a quick glimpse of where I will be at in the next five years.
What trait do you like least about yourself?
My least favorite trait about myself would be my patience when it comes to cooking. I am the kind of person who will snack the entire time I am attempting to make anything and then not eat my actual meal because I am too full.
Which historical figure do you most identify with?
I most identify with Donna Karan, a famous women’s fashion designer. Karan developed stylish staples for the everyday career woman, giving off a sense of power and confidence in the wearer. Like Karan, I also aspire to climb the ladder of leadership in the retail industry by helping women look and feel confident while following their dreams.
Who is someone you’ve met at Indiana State you’ll remember the rest of your life?
A person that stands out to me throughout my past four years at State would be Dr. Amanda Muhammad. She is the program coordinator and an associate professor for the Textiles, Apparel and Merchandising program. Dr. Muhammad pushed me to see my academic potential and gave me the confidence and skills necessary to be successful in my future career path.
Which talent would you most like to have?
I have always wanted to be a good singer. My mom is such a talented singer, and I have always loved listening to her. I wish I would’ve inherited that talent from her, but unfortunately most people want to turn the song volume up when I start to join in.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement thus far would be an internship opportunity I received this past summer. After many stressful months of interviews with Ulta Beauty, I was able to earn a position as their 2017 Summer Merchandising Intern at the corporate office in Chicago. I spent 10 weeks with the company learning the ends and outs of merchandising and networking with some amazing people.
If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what do you think it would be?
If I were to die and come back anything, I think I would come back as a Labrador. I have always had labs as pets growing up, and they are such kind and loving animals. They will always be there for you and look out for you when you need them, and that has always been my mindset in a friendship.
What do people notice first about you?
People notice my bubbly personality and big smile when they first meet me! It is rare to catch me in a bad mood. I always make it a point to remain optimistic and laugh at myself when it’s needed.
What does BLUE mean to you?
BLUE means home to me. I have lived in Terre Haute for all of my life, and I know even after I graduate this year it will always remain a home in my heart. Indiana State brought me some of my very best friends and memories, and I will carry that with me throughout my future.
