As a marketing major at Indiana State, Yahzmine Rodriguez was drawn to the Networks Program for the opportunity to network with professionals and grow with a group of like-minded students.
“I knew I needed to challenge myself if I wanted to grow professionally, and Networks helped me market myself as a potential candidate to employers. I never went to an interview feeling nervous,” she said.
Mentors helped Rodriguez understand her strengths and weaknesses and become a stronger leader.
“I received great satisfaction watching others excel, and I want to continue helping others realize their full potential, particularly working with minority youth,” Rodriguez said. “For me, education equates to the mental freedom needed to navigate the world. My dream is to start my own nonprofit promoting community sustainability through local entrepreneurship.”
Currently serving as marketing coordinator for dental practice software company Renaissance Electronic Services in Southport, Ind., Rodriguez handles marketing research, project development and is the “Be Open” committee leader for the culture team.
“I love coming to work every day, because there is always something new to learn about the tech and dental industry,” she said.
